The Halton Catholic and Halton District School Boards are establishing a joint Aboriginal Education Advisory Committee (AEAC). The purpose of this committee will be to provide ongoing advice to the boards on matters relating to the education of Aboriginal students and to assist the school boards in identifying the needs of the Aboriginal communities in Halton. The deadline for applications has been extended to July 31, 2009.

At the May 5, 2009 Regular Meeting of the Halton Catholic District School Board, Alice Anne LeMay, Chair of the Board, was pleased to announce the election of three new student trustees to the Board of Trustees for the 2009-2010 term. The three new student trustees were elected by the Student Senate, which includes representatives from each of the Board's eight secondary schools.
