INTRODUCTION
Education in Ontario is a partnership of the Ministry of Education, School Boards and school communities. Boards of Trustees are democratically elected and ensure equity of programs for students throughout the district. School Principals are responsible for the planning and delivery of programs that will enable students to meet or exceed acceptable levels of achievement. Principals are expected to work in consultation with their staffs, parents, students and communities in reaching this objective. School Councils have a vital role to play as partners in this collaborative process by providing advice and input on matters including student codes of conduct, school/community communication, and the development of a School Administrative Profile.

It is expected that each representative will identify themselves as a committee contact person to the Chairs of each School Council in their Region. They also will strive to make all School Councils in the Region aware of the work of the School Council Liaison Committee.
