HCDSB Participates in Bike Month & Bike to School Week!
 



Students and staff at the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) are joining schools across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area to celebrate Bike to School Week, from May 29 to June 2, 2017, and Bike Month 2017, which officially begins on Monday, May 29th, and continues until the end of June.

Students and staff are encouraged to 'get ready to roll' by biking or walking to school, and can participate in a number of community events including guided bike tours, festivals, art shows, film screenings, and so much more!

Quick Facts

  • 22 schools across our municipalities (Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville) will be participating in Bike to School Week and Month through classroom activities, presentations, and creative contests. Members of the community are encouraged to highlight the activities taking place on social media, using the following hashtags on Twitter and Facebook: #biketoschoolHCDSB, #biketoschool, #bikemonthHCDSB.
  • Bike to School Week 2017 is organized by the Events Subcommittee of the Active and Sustainable School Transportation Regional Hub of Metrolinx, the Regional Transportation Authority. The campaign is affiliated with Bike Month, which is coordinated by Cycle Toronto.
  • So far, 483 schools within the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area have registered for Bike to School Week.

As always, drivers are reminded to exercise caution while driving in and around school communities.
